    Re: Official BS Thread

A Ford Mustang was sheared in half Thursday in a violent collision with a speeding Honda Element, but the drivers of both parties miraculously walked away from the wreckage.
Veronica Castro, 26, at the wheel of the Mustang, was southbound on De Soto Avenue, turning left onto Burbank Boulevard, when the rear of her car was struck by the northbound Honda, officials said. The force of the impact cut the Mustang in two - its front coming to rest against a utility pole, its rear half against a curb 20 feet away.
"He hit it so hard on the back wheel that it just literally tore the back end right off," said Officer John Stafford of LAPD Valley Traffic Division.
Castro, a teacher at nearby Woodland Hills Academy, climbed out of the car and was comforted by bystanders. She could not be reached for comment.
"We've seen this (kind of crash) turn out a lot worse," Stafford said. "It was a great blessing. He hits her more on a broadside, and this could be really bad. We got really, really fortunate."
Castro and the unidentified driver of the Honda each suffered minor injuries. They were transported to local hospitals as a precaution.
Witnesses said the 21-year-old male driver of the Honda may have gone through a yellow or red traffic light. It was unclear how fast he was driving, but high speed was indicated by his vehicle ending up 120 feet past the intersection after the crash, Stafford said.
"When you cut a car in half and end up 120 feet north of the intersection, that's a lot," he said.
The back half of the Mustang hit a car stopped at the light, but none of the three people in that vehicle were injured, Stafford said.

Turned cold out on this end of the state Tammy. Two weeks until Thanksgiving. We always take the families out for dinner. That way my wife can enjoy the kids, grandkids, and her meal without having to run around taking care of everyone. . . :partydance:

Oh yeah. Last year we got quite a bit. So I finally went out and bought myself a nice 24" Dual-Stage Snowblower. That'll keep good ol' Mother Nature in check! How about you?

I use a shovel for our short walk but usually leave the driveway to melt in the spring. . . . Wife and I both have Subaru's so when the guys start b&*^%ing about the snow and their drive's into work I say what snow and flash them a big grin. . . . :rolling:

4 more days off and I'm back to work. . . . At least the weather wasn't too bad this week. . .

Pop's, I won't be getting our 'Stang back until spring. The guy doing the redo broke his thumb on his right hand and can't weld or spray paint for probably another month. Said he'll finish it up over the winter and cover it up until spring. Trees and quads don't mix very well. . . .
